Singapore, Nov. 14 (Petra)-- Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi and Singaporean Minister for Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan held talks today on the sidelines of His Majesty King Abdullah II’s visit to the Republic of Singapore, focusing on bilateral relations and regional developments.

Safadi and Balakrishnan emphasized the importance of King Abdullah II’s visit in strengthening ties between the two countries and expanding avenues of cooperation, particularly in development and economic sectors.

The two ministers also discussed a range of international and regional issues, with a particular focus on efforts to solidify the ceasefire in Gaza, ensure the implementation of all its provisions, facilitate the immediate and sufficient delivery of humanitarian aid, and advance the second phase of the ceasefire agreement.

Safadi underscored the need to maintain the ceasefire, implement all stages of the agreement, and create a genuine political horizon that leads to a just peace based on the two-state solution in accordance with international legitimacy and established references.

He also commended the significant efforts made by U.S. President Donald Trump in reaching the agreement, reiterating Jordan’s welcome of the U.S. proposal to halt the war, deliver aid to Gaza, prevent the displacement of Palestinians, and reject the annexation of the West Bank. Safadi affirmed that Jordan will continue working closely with the United States, as well as regional and international partners, to implement the U.S. proposal and advance peace efforts in the region.

The minister further expressed appreciation for Singapore’s steadfast support for the two-state solution as the only path to achieving a just and comprehensive peace.
